In recent months, there has been a lot of information in the media regarding consumer product safety laws in the United States. In August 2008, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) enacted several changes to current consumer product safety laws.
Effective February 10, 2009, lead content in any children's product must not exceed 600 parts per million (ppm) by weight for any part of the product. Effective August, 2009, the lead limit will be decreased again to 300 ppm total lead content.
From the day Levels of Discovery began manufacturing in May of 2002, all of their products have been in compliance with CPSIA regulations. As soon as they became aware of the new laws for 2009, their entire line was re-tested again and all were found to be in compliance with the new standards as well.
